South Connections Mas Costume Band parading at the 2009 Notting Hill Carnival. In the foreground is the Adult King, Roy Weise, dressed as 'King Sailor'. The band is administered by Heather Elliott from its base at the Oval House Theatre in Kennington. It originated back in 1985, when they were known as Ovalionz. Their first carnival in 1986 had 'Cats' as the theme with costumes designed by Niki Lyons and these designs were titled 'All Aboard' by Shaun Carrington.
