Clay being prepared for throwing by Sarah Williams at the North Street Pottery, Clapham. The clay is sourced from Stoke in Staffordshire and this preparatory work is required to ensure an even consistency and to remove air bubbles from the clay, preventing possible damage during firing. The potters' collective was established in 1978 by Naine Woodrow and Mary Neville. Digital image dated 8th September 2009
