FREE LIBRARIES CAMPAIGN, LAMBETH

FREE LIBRARIES CAMPAIGN, LAMBETH

Leaflet encouraging a 'yes' vote with regard to establishing the Free Libraries Act in Lambeth. Ten libraries were proposed if successful, including Lambeth Central Library, Art Museum and Picture Gallery in a 'noble' buidling on a corner plot in Kennington Park. Although the campaign succeeded, the museum and art gallery building for the borough was not realised.
