Brockwell Hall, Brockwell Park, Herne Hill, was built in 1811 -1813 as the country seat of John Blades Esq., a city glass merchant. It was acquired together with 78 acres of land by the County Council in March 1891 for a public park, and is now the offices of the Lambeth Parks Department.Watercolour by Kate E.Thorpe, dated 1971
