Interior of St Mary's church (Our Lady of the Victories), Clapham Park Road. Described as one of the finest Victorian churches in South London, it was built 1849-51 to the designs of William Wardell, a pupil of Pugin and later a prominent architect in Sydney, Australia. The style is 14th century and the church was extended with a Lady Chapel and transept chapel in the 1880s, by J F Bentley, who lived in Old Town. Photograph by Sam Lambert
