MURAL, VILLA ROAD, BRIXTON

A mural painted by squatters across the end of a terraced house in Villa Road, Brixton. The houses on the north side of the road were occupied by squatters for 6 years from 1974, eventually achieving concessions from Lambeth Council. These included; saving the Victorian houses from demolition, granting of short leases, and permanent housing was offered to some of the occupants.
