TRIUMPHAL ARCHES, VAUXHALL GARDENS

The Triumphal Arches along the South Walk of Vauxhall Gardens adjacent to the statue of Handel, after a painting by S Wale and engraved by John S Miller (1715-1792). Miller (or Johann Sebastian Muller) was born in Nurnberg and became an artist and engraver. He lived in his latter years at No.10 Vauxhall Walk and is buried in St Mary's Lambeth.
