WARTIME PERFABS, CANTERBURY GROVE, WEST NORWOOD

A plan of the eight curved asbestos huts built by the U.S. Army for the Ministry of Works as part of the wartime Emergency Hutment Programme in West Norwood to provide temporary prefab accommodation for those families displaced by the war. Location listed as 2-4 Selsdon Road, 91-97 Canterbury Grove and 74-74 Thurlestone Road. They were handed over by the American Army on 22nd February 1945.From Drainage Records
