An engraved cartoon depicting a rain-soaked waiter with wine glasses beneath an arch of fairy lights and titled: 'The Last Week of the Season at Vauxhall'. The season at Vauxhall gardens was noted at the time as often interrupted by poor weather. An article accompanying this image reported: 'We regret to say that Vauxhall experienced its usual luck during the last week of its season, which was the nightly succession of tremendous overflows.'From Punch Magazine, dated 1848.
