Letter to offer his services to the A.R.P. from Leonard Francis of 46 Acre Lane, Brixton, dated 3rd January 1939. During World War I he was a Warrant Telegraphist to Admiral Edward Charlton, Commander of East Coast Minesweepers and later Chief of Cape of Good Hope Station. "I hold a 1st Class Wireless Certificate. Am cool and collected in face of danger. My age is 66, but I am tall, strong, & healthy, single, good clean character. At present on the staff of 'The Church Army' Brixton as clerk."
