The People's Flower Show and Industrial Exhibition to be held at Springfield House, Wandsworth Road, South Lambeth on 24th-26th July 1884. The event was opened by the Earl of Shaftesbury and exhibits included a floral display in a 120ft crystal salon. The objective of the show and exhibition is to 'beautify the homes of the crowded poor of this parish by encouraging both the parents and children to grow flowers and vegetables, or to cultivate whatever industry the have a special liking for'.
