St Anslem's church in Madeira Road, Streatham was built on the Bedford Park Estate and held 1,000 parishioners at a cost of around £10,000. The architect was Mr Withers and builder Mr Gregory of Clapham. The church was destroyed by a flying bomb in World War II. From: The Building News, 29th September 1882
