WINDRUSH MIGRANTS’ WELCOME, ASTORIA THEATRE, BRIXTON

Newspaper cutting relating to the arrival of Windrush passengers and the welcoming party for 'Jamaicans looking for a new future' at the Astoria, Brixton. The immigrants were welcomed by the Mayor Cllr Simpson. The adjacent article reprints words by the Colonial Secretary Driberg that Britain is no paradise and they have been warned there may be 'difficulties caused through ignorance and prejudice'.
