Rioting in Lambeth Walk during World War I with police preventing an attack on the bakery of Christopher Gilsdorf & Sons at No.126. The German sinking of the Luisitania induced anti-German sentiment that led to mobs damaging shops and businesses owned by Germans, or those suspected of being of German origin.
