LAMBETH’S V.C. WAR HERO, TOWN HALL, BRIXTON, WORLD WAR II

Second-Lieut. W White V.C with the Lambeth mayor, Charles Gibbs, leaving the Town Hall after a presentation. Mitcham-born William Allison White of the Machine Gun Corps during World War I, was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery during a battle at Gouzeaucourt in France on 18th September 1918.
