The All Blacks skating troupe prior to their Greyhound Race to re-open the Brixton Skating Rink (or Palace) in Effra Road. The rink was designed to accommodate 2,000 skaters and the rebuilding with red brick and artificial stone trim was described as a 'pretentious affair compared with the old structure'.
