SUSSEX RD SCHOOL WWI DEATHS: WHITMORE, GIDDONS, HOARE & MOSS

Sussex Road School, Brixton, old boys killed during World War I: Sergt. Harry Whitmore of the Royal Irish Regiment who was killed on 5th July 1916 when he volunteered to go and fetch the wounded. Private Will Giddons of the Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment died aged 18 years at the Somme front on October 8th 1916, he was wounded in the trenches, but due to heavy fire help came too late. Private Chris Moss of the East Surrey 24th London Regiment was killed on 21st September 1916 aged 19 years. Private Walter Hoare of the Rifle Brigade died 9th August 1916 aged 17 years.
