CHAPEL, PARK HILL, STREATHAM COMMON

Views of the chapel from the balcony at the rear at Park Hill, Streatham Common North. Built in c.1830 by William Leaf a banker and silk merchant. Sir Henry Tate, the sugar magnate (Tate and Lyle), art collector and philanthropist lived here from 1885.  Bought and converted to St.Michael's Convent in 1923, the building and grounds were sold to be redeveloped as a luxury residential complex in 1999.  It is a Grade II* listed building and the chapel was a later addition.
