STYLO ARTWORK

STYLO ARTWORK

Pencil sketch and photographic reference for an artwork by artist Stylo, part of a larger artwork by VOP, also featuring Mear, Solo One and Dane. The main influence for this artwork in Leake Street, Waterloo, was a 'survival of the fittest' theme, featuring a quote from Charles Darwin. Stylo's art is abstracted graffiti lettering combined with realistic portraiture. Since his first piece under a railway bridge in South Croydon in 1984, his street art career has involved painting in many of the world's major cities. Based in Lambeth, he formed the Visual Orgasm Productions painting crew in 1988 - better known as VOP or the VOPSTARS, with the main aim 'to bring colour to an often grey planet'.
