Protest artwork from the June 2020 Black Lives Matter protest marches from Westminster to the American Embassy at Vauxhall/ Nine Elms, with a quote from Ida Bell Wells-Barnett (1862-1931), the American journalist and early civil rights movement leader. The death of African American George Floyd whilst in police custody on 25th May 2020 in Minneapolis sparked worldwide anti-racism demonstrations, including Black Lives Matter protests in the UK, particularly focusing on the embassy.
