A sculpture by artist and soldier Oles Sydoruk titled Ares's Cold Smile. Oles states, 'In ancient Greek mythology, Ares is the god of bloody, insidious, cruel war....in the modern world, as an example of the war in Ukraine, we see there are still people left on earth who are capable of terrible, inhumane behaviour, killing and devouring the civilian population. The composition Ares' Cold Smile uses part of a broken rocket from the city of Bucha, which was terribly affected by the Russian invasion of Putin's war...'. From the exhibition 'Voices from Ukraine', a collaboration with sculptors Stephen Duncan from Lambeth, Oles Sydoruk and Borys Krylov in Kyiv, which was hosted by Lambeth Archives in April 2026.
