MAGDALEN CHAPEL, ST GEORGE’S FIELDS
The Magdalen Hospital Chapel in St George's Fields, Southwark. The hospital was established in 1758 in Whitechapel by Robert Dingley to reform female 'penitent prostitutes' and moved here to St George's Fields in 1772 where it provided training in domestic service. Engraved by Pugin after a drawing by Rowlandson and printed as an aquatint by Bluck. From Surrey Prints Collection, ID: SP3/714/MAG.2
