Children playing outside No.42 Portland Grove, South Lambeth, part of housing refurbished by the Lambeth Council. Originally called Portland Place and Sydney Place, this street, and neighbouring Mursell Road, was laid out between 1822-30 with modest cottage-like houses being constructed.
