Lambeth Teaching Centre at No 48-50 Acre Lane Brixton, run by ILEA. Nos.48 & 50 (formerly The Cedars) were built c.1819 on land belonging to Thomas Bailey who then sold them to John Illidge, a stockbroker. In 1899 they were purchased by the School Board for London to establish a school for mentally handicapped children.
