Bomb damage to houses in Baytree Road, Brixton, from an Airship raid by a L.31 Zeppelin during World War I. Nine of the twelve airships which set out on this raid crossed the British coast reached England and 371 bombs were dropped, killing 40 people and injuring 130. The damage done was estimated at £135,000. 23rd to 24th September 1916. Ref. C.D. Vol.8 p.2
