ST MARK’S SCHOOL, HARLEYFORD ROAD, VAUXHALL

Front elevation of St Mark's School, Harleyford Road. Built in a modest Regency style in 1824 at a total cost of £2,581, the school was 'for poor male and female children'. By 1825 180 boys and 120 girls over the age of six attended and it is one of the oldest London schools to have had continuous use. Watercolour by unknown artist, c.1830.
