Old Park, Nightingale Lane, Clapham, belonged to James Cole Esq. in 1830 and was the residence of John Thornton by 1861. Cole had 17 children and his 4th son George was a founding partner of the London Rubber Company. The site is now marked by Old Park Avenue.Pencil sketch by H.Gastineau, c.1830.
