Surrey Cricket Ground, The Oval. Handbills of two matches in 1856. The County of Surrey playing against England on Friday, July 4th, and The Gentlemen of Surrey and Sussex against the Gentlemen of England on Thursday, July 10th. The Surrey County Cricket Club was formed in in 1845. The players include F.P.Miller who was the Surrey captain in the early 1850s, and F.Burbridge who was captain from 1858 to 1865.
