The Canterbury Theatre of Varieties, Upper Marsh. One of London's most famous music halls, established in 1849 by Charles Morton, who added a new hall in 1851 and another one in 1855. Rebuilt in 1867 by R.E.Villiers, the theatre survived until it was bombed in World War II. Advertisements in the programme for the 52nd Anniversary performance on 25th November 1904.
