KENNINGTON CHAPEL, KENNINGTON PARK ROAD, KENNINGTON

Exterior view of the Kennington Chapel in Kennington Park Road. Built c.1796 'for the use of Independents', it was said to accommodate around 500 people. The first minister was the Rev. David Bradberry. In the 1840s it became a Church of England proprietary chapel dedicated to St James. However, in 1923 it was sold to the NAAFI and subsequently demolished.
