WATERLOO BRIDGE, WATERLOO

The opening ceremony of Waterloo Bridge on the 18th June 1817, as seen from the corner of Cecil Street, in the Strand. This bridge was designed by John Rennie, and stood for 119 years. It was originally known as the Strand Bridge and following Wellington's victory at Waterloo was given it's present name. Drawn by R. R. Reinagle. Engraved by George Cooke.
