FEMALE ORPHANAGE, WESTMINSTER BRIDGE ROAD, LAMBETH

Founded in 1758, by the magistrate Sir John Fieldings. In 1866 the orphanage moved to Beddington in Surrey. Most of the site was taken over by J. Oakey & Sons and Wellington Mills, manufacturer of abrasives and polishing products. View from Westminster Bridge Road.
