FEMALE ORPHANAGE, WESTMINSTER BRIDGE ROAD, LAMBETH

The centenary fete. Group of orphans with the Archbishop of Canterbury. The orphanage admitted girls between ages of 9 and 15 years. These girls were trained for domestic services and to read and write. In 1866 the orphanage moved to Beddington in Surrey.
