SHRUBBERY, STREATHAM HIGH ROAD, STREATHAM CENTRAL

A view of the Shrubbery from the garden when occupied by Streatham College for Girls. The mansion was situated between St. Leonard's Church and Prentis Road on Streatham High Road. Built by Rev. James Tattersall, the Rector of Streatham in c.1770, the school was founded in 1894. The building was demolished in 1933. Previously the site was occupied by the Tile House and a Tile Kiln, which was operating from the early 16th century.
