13-17 CEDARS ROAD, CLAPHAM

Nos 113,115 and 117 on the west side of Cedars Road, Clapham, photograph taken on February 14th 1966. Cedars Road was laid out on the site of The Cedars, a large mansion on Clapham Common North Side which was demolished in 1860. The detached villas on either side of the road were designed by the architect J.T.Knowles junior. Following bomb damage to some of the original buildings, most of them were demolished and replaced by Cedars Road Estate, built by the London County Council in the 1960s, although these three villas survive and are Grade II listed.
