Leigham Court Estate agent's office on Streatham Hill advertising the sale of houses and maisonettes in the new estate. The estate was developed by the Artisan's Labourers and General Dwelling Company after they acquired it in 1891. Built to a good standard it comprised a mixed development of shops and houses. The parade of shops fronting Streatham Hill, had maisonettes above them and were in four storeyed buildings separated by roads of good quality Victorian terraces, which became commonly known as the ABCD Estate after the names of these roads, Amesbury, Barcombe, Cricklade and Downton Avenues.
