NThe fort at Vauxhall, erected for the the defence of London during the English Civil War of the 1640's. 'Vaux Hall' manor house is seen on the right, and the river Effra is seen joining the Thames in the foreground. Westminster Abbey and Lambeth Palace can be seen beyond the wall in the centre.
