SAINSBURY, STREATHAM HIGH ROAD, STREATHAM COMMON

View looking towards the entrance to Sainsbury's supermarket from Streatham High Road at the junction with Streatham Common South. The supermarket was constructed on the site of the old silk mill and the P. B. Cow's factory in 1989. On the extreme left is the Pied Bull public house adjoining the former 'Beehive Coffee Tavern'. Built by the temperance movement in 1879, the Beehive is now a solicitor's office and a children's nursery at the rear of the building.
