Front elevation of St Mark's School, Harleyford Road. Built in a modest Regency style in 1824 at a total cost of £2,581, the school was 'for poor male and female children'. By 1825 180 boys and 120 girls over the age of six attended . A separate block for boys and one for girls was built on either side of the main building. It is one of the oldest schools in London to have been in continuous use.
