NOTRE DAME CONVENT SCHOOL, CLAPHAM: SISTER MARY PHILIPPA

Notre Dame Convent School, Clapham. Sister Mary Philippa, Head Mistress of the High School during the1930s. The school was started by an order of Belgian nuns, who had bought the estate in 1851. In 1939 the sisters left and the estate became derelict. After the war the Notre Dame council housing estate was built on the site.
