Bomb damage to the galleries at St.Mark's Church, Kennington. Following the attack during the war the church had been sufficiently restored to get most of the ground floor back into use by 1958. This photograph was part of a promotion leaflet to raise funds to rebuild the galleries for use as the headquarters of the Ranyard Nurses. These nurses who worked from 110 Kennington Road, were part of a Christian organisation (founded by Ellen Henrietta Renyard in 1868), of 150 State registered nurses taking their skills to the ill and aged in Lambeth.
