A scene from pageant Changing Scenes, part of the 1936 Festival. The annual Festival was held on a day near to the founder's birthday of 19 June - and so was also known as Founder's Day. Visitors could tour the premises and meet staff and children as well as watch displays put on by the boys and girls. Note the spire of St. Michael's Church in the background.
