Civic Awards ceremony, St Peter's Heritage Centre, Kennington Lane. The recipient of the award was Mrs Freda Hannington of Streatham, for her stirling work with the organisation ' Streatham Against Litter'. She organised and worked for the group for many years at a time when the streets were littered with rubbish.
