WESTMINSTER BRIDGE HOUSE, WESTMINSTER BRIDGE ROAD, WATERLOO

WESTMINSTER BRIDGE HOUSE, WESTMINSTER BRIDGE ROAD, WATERLOO

Westminster Bridge House was built in 1900-02 by the London Necropolis Railway Company to receive funeral cortéges and convey coffins and mourners via a private railway platform to the Necropolis Cemetery (Brookwood) near Woking in Surrey. The platform was originally built in 1854, but was bombed in 1941 and not rebuilt. The facade is noted for the Doulton terracotta decoration and the building is now offices.
