FERN LODGE ESTATE, CROWN LANE, STREATHAM

Fern Lodge Estate seen looking north from Crown Lane, Streatham Common. Crown Lane was originally known as Streatham Lane and was the location of the Rose and Crown public house. This was destroyed along with a row of shops by a bomb in October 1940, causing the heaviest loss of life in the area during World War II. Photographed here on 15th January 2004.
