Victorian section of Elderwood House, Elder Road, West Norwood. The earliest buildings were originally built as Lambeth School for poor children in 1815 and called 'The Norwood House of Industry'. This is thought to be the first Poor Law school in England and was later run as an old peoples' home by the Greater London Council. It has since been converted into private housing. Photographed on 26th August 2004. Digital image courtesy of Keith Holdaway, 2004.
