BRIXTON ORPHANAGE, BARRINGTON ROAD, LOUGHBOROUGH JUNCTION

The Brixton Orphanage for Fatherless Girls originated with the donation of No.57 Barrington Road by Mrs Montague, the first Superintendent. Additions were made of adjoining houses and this schoolroom with dormitory above was added in 1886. There was also an infirmary in Millbrook Road.
