CONGREGATIONAL CHAPEL, CLAYLANDS ROAD, KENNINGTON

The disused Congregational Chapel in Claylands Road, Kennington. Claylands Road takes it name from the mansion and grounds built on the site in 1778 by John Fentiman. The land was given descendant, also John Fentiman, in 1836 and the foundation stone was laid by Rev.John Styles, formerly of Holland Chapel. The church opened on 29th June 1836.Photograph by M.D. Trace, dated 6th August 1967
