MAWBEY HOUSE, VAUXHALL

A Georgian house 'adjacent Cumberland Gardens Vauxhall, from Mr Mawbey's'. Possibly also known as Copthall, the site was formerly the home of Sir Thomas Parry, later belonging to Sir Joseph Mawbey, before becoming the premises of Johnson & Co. In 1814 it was the site of Mr Snaith's malt distillery.Watercolour by G.Yates, dated 1825.
