SURREY TAVERN, THE OVAL, KENNINGTON
The Surrey Tavern at the Oval cricket ground shortly before its demolition in 1964. The first tavern was built in 1855. This version of it was built in 1897, but susequently demolished, although its modern replacement lasted almost 40 years. Photograph by Patrick Smith, dated 1964.
